Parametric Level Correlations in Random–Matrix Models
We show that parametric level correlations in random–matrix theories are closely related to a breaking of the symmetry between the advanced and the retarded Green’s functions. The form of the parametric level correlation function is the same as for the disordered case considered earlier by Simons and Altshuler and is given by the graded trace of the commutator of the saddle–point solution with ...
متن کاملParametric Spectral Statistics in Unitary Random Matrix Ensembles: From Distribution Functions to Intra-Level Correlations
We establish a general framework to explore parametric statistics of individual energy levels in unitary random matrix ensembles. For a generic confinement potential W (H), we (i) find the joint distribution functions of the eigenvalues of H and H = H + V for an arbitrary fixed V both for finite matrix size N and in the “thermodynamic” N → ∞ limit; (ii) derive manypoint parametric correlation f...
متن کاملCorrelations of eigenvectors for non-Hermitian random-matrix models.
We establish a general relation between the diagonal correlator of eigenvectors and the spectral Green's function for non-Hermitian random-matrix models in the large-N limit. We apply this result to a number of non-Hermitian random-matrix models and show that the outcome is in good agreement with numerical results.
متن کاملRandom-matrix theory of parametric correlations in the spectra of disordered metals and chaotic billiards
A random-matrix theory is developed for the adiabatic response to an external perturbation of the energy spectrum of a mesoscopic system. The basic assumption is that spectral correlations are governed by level repulsion. Following Dyson, the dependence of the energy levels on the perturbation parameter is modeled by a Brownian-motion process in a fictitious viscous fluid. A Fokker-Planck equat...
متن کاملUniversal Parametric Correlations at the Soft Edge of the Spectrum of Random Matrix Ensembles
We extend a recent theory of parametric correlations in the spectrum of random matrices to study the response to an external perturbation of eigenvalues near the soft edge of the support. We demonstrate by explicit non-perturbative calculation that, for systems with unitary symmetry, the two-point function for level density fluctuations becomes, after appropriate rescaling, a universal expressi...
